As Lecturer with the Department of Botany, Annamalai University, Dr. Ragupathi Gopi lecture and conducts research in Botany. He has 12 years of research experience in botany, namely plant physiology and undertook the topic of Triazole induced variation in growth and metabolism of Amorphophallus companulatus Blume as his doctorate thesis. He holds a Ph.D. in Botany (Plant Physiology) from Annamalai University where he also obtained his M.Sc. and M.Phil. in Botany.Dr. Gopi graduated from University of Madras- (Govt. Art College) with a B.Sc. in Botany.
Dr. Gopi ‘s main areas of interest include the estimation of biochemicals from plants and analysis of phytochemicals, enzyme assays and antioxidant determination and quantification, protein studies SDS-PAGE and Agarose gel electrophoresis and DNA isolation (Genomic and Plasmid). He is a member of the Indian Society for Plant Physiology New Delhi, Indian Botanical Society, Indian Society for Bio-Chemistry and Bio-Technology and Indian Science Congress.
A regular reviewer for international journals, Dr. Gopi has published papers in 16 national journals and 22 international journals and presented papers at several national conferences.
