THOMSON SCIENTIFIC CELEBRATES 20 MILLIONTH QUERY BETWEEN WEB OF SCIENCE AND ENDNOTE

Philadelphia, PA, USA-London, UK — July 20, 2005 — For more than five years seamless two-way connectivity has existed between the Thomson ResearchSoft bibliographic management tool—EndNote®—and the Web of Science® component of ISI Web on KnowledgeSM. Today, Thomson Scientific announced that there have been more than 20 million queries into Web of Science from EndNote and nearly 25 million into EndNote from Web of Science.

The two-way connectivity allows users to directly search Web of Science from EndNote and link directly back to the record in Web of Science after capturing it in EndNote. Users can also mark and save records to EndNote from Web of Science. The integration of EndNote and Web of Science also allows users to work from the environment of their choice.

“Reaching the 20 million milestones is an indication of the heavy usage of the Thomson Scientific information solutions. And the two-way connectivity is a clear demonstration of our unique end-user workflow integration capabilities,” said Dave Kochalko, president of Thomson ResearchSoft. “Since we are continually looking to strengthen our offerings, when we release EndNote Web, we will be able to support federated searching within EndNote,” added Kochalko.
