ScienceWatch.com® sat down with its Co-Editors-in-Chief Emmanuel Boss, Jürgen Kesselmeier, S.W.A. Naqvi, and Albrecht Neftel to discuss the journal’s achievements and how its open access policy and interdisciplinary approach impacted its citations.
Biogeosciences was launched in 2004 as an open access journal and received its first Journal Impact Factor in the 2006 Journal Citation Reports®. The editors note that following the open access model allows the journal to reach a wider audience, and its indexing and high citation rate in Web of ScienceSM further raise its visibility.
