An interview with ACS Nano

For the past four bimonthly updates, ACS Nano has had the highest percent increase in total citation our of any journal in its field, earning it the title of “Rising Star” in the field of Chemistry by Essential Science IndicatorsSM from Thomson Reuters.® asked Editor-in-Chief Dr. Paul S. Weiss for his thoughts on what contributes to the success of ACS Nano, the history of the publication, and how he sees the journal evolving in the future.

In addition to rigorous peer review and a solid foundation set by its sister journal, Nano Letters, Dr. Weiss highlights the importance of growth, not just in readership but collaboration across research fields as well. “One of our roles is to cross-pollinate fields by drawing readership from all contributing disciplines, and then getting each to think about the problems faced by others.” These connections support shared learning and can lead to solutions to challenges faced in many different areas of science.
